Illinois Space Society
The best engineering student organization on campus
Illinois Space Society is a student organization and it is a space (hah) for space enthusiasts to get together and work on projects. It was the first engineering group on campus I ever joined. I met so many amazing people through this group. I am forever grateful for the support and kindness I received in ISS.
ISS was the overarching group that consisted of many different teams for various competitions or projects. At some point or another I assisted in the following teams: Space Grant (NASA’s Space Grant Midwest High-Power Rocket Competition), Micro-g (NASA’s Micro-g Neutral Buoyancy Experiment Design Teams), Large Rocketry, and Spaceshot. My contributions changed drastically across the different teams.
I met friends for life through ISS, and I am so appreciative of my fellow peers that were with me at the time and those that continue the group to this day. While rocketry specifically is not my forte, the experience I gained working in a team on engineering projects is invaluable. Enjoy these various pictures of my time with Illinois Space Society.
