[WIP]Mechanical Design I
ME370
A core class to UIUC’s mechanical engineering curriculum, I learned so much from this experience and had a blast doing it. The class project throughout the semester focused on developing a walker that moves utilizing four-bar linkage mechanisms. I handled most of the CAD assembly, design, and assembly of the bot. I remember learning about the capabilities of CAD software to simulate the movement of assemblies, namely for Creo. We were able to see the foot path our walker takes which helped inform the linkage design. I also learned about press-fitting techniques to use in conjunction with 3D printing. This was especially helpful to attach the linkages and cams to the rotating shafts via set-screw collars.
